Which trip catches the sunset
The sun sets earlier in winter and later in summer, so the trip you pick matters. This table shows, month by month, whether the sun goes down while the boat is still out.

- The 4 hour afternoon trip, 14:00 to 18:00, only catches it in November and the first days of December. In late October and mid December the sun sets around the time the boat is back.
- At Ocean Marina, 2 boats run their 5 hour afternoon trip from 14:00 to 18:00. If the sunset matters to you, ask for the 14:00 to 19:00 time when you book.
- Full day trips run 10:00 to 18:00 and are back before sunset for most of the year. Morning trips are back long before it. The 6 hour Koh Larn and Koh Sak trip from Bali Hai Pier runs 10:00 to 16:00, so for a 6 hour sunset trip from that pier the programme is Koh Phai.

Islands and piers for a sunset trip
These are the afternoon trips that are still out at sunset all year. Each one goes to the islands first and comes back to the pier at 19:00. The price is for the whole boat.

- Every one of these trips starts with a fishing and sashimi stop, then goes on to the islands. The island pages have the full times for each trip: Koh Larn (Coral Island), Koh Sak, Monkey Island and Koh Khram.
- On afternoon trips the cruise back to the pier is the time for sunset photos. From November to January the sun sets earlier, so on some trips it goes down during the last island stop, with the boat still out.
- Bali Hai Pier has no pier ticket. At Ocean Marina the pier ticket is 80 THB per person and is not included in the charter price.
Sunset cruise prices
Prices are for the whole boat, not per person. A sunset trip starts at ฿14,000 for 5 hours from Bali Hai Pier. From Ocean Marina, it starts at ฿17,500 for 5 hours. The price depends on the yacht, the trip length and the day. The charter price guide explains how prices work, and each boat in our fleet has its own price list.
Not included: the 80 THB per person pier ticket at Ocean Marina, the small boat transfer if you want to go ashore on Koh Larn, the fee to go ashore on Koh Phai, rented extras such as the pool, slider and jet ski, and diving, which costs extra.
What is included
Every sunset trip comes with a captain and crew, drinking water, soft drinks, seasonal fruits, seasickness medication, a Bluetooth speaker, life jackets, a paddle board, a swim ring, snorkel masks, towels, simple fishing gear, a BBQ grill, a first aid kit and accident insurance. Each boat has a restroom and a bedroom.
The only food on the included list is seasonal fruits.
Good to know before you go
- When you ask for a boat, ask for the afternoon time: 14:00 to 19:00 for 5 hours or 13:00 to 19:00 for 6 hours.
- Be at the pier 15 minutes early. If you are late, the boat still returns to the pier on time.
- The latest time back at the pier is 19:00. The trip does not stay out later.
- Clouds or haze can hide the sun near the horizon. We cannot promise a clear sunset.
- In bad weather the captain can change the plan for your safety.
- If you want to end the trip early, tell the crew on board.
- Do not put paper in the toilet. The fine is 3,000 THB.
- Damage to the yacht is charged.
- Diving costs extra.

Between 17:47 in mid November and 18:47 in July. The table above shows the time for the 1st and the 15th of every month.
Which trip should I book to see the sunset?
The 5 hour trip from 14:00 to 19:00 or the 6 hour trip from 13:00 to 19:00. Both are still out at sunset in every month, from Bali Hai Pier and Ocean Marina. The 4 hour afternoon trip only catches it in November and the first days of December.
Is dinner included?
No. There is no dinner on board. Drinking water, soft drinks and seasonal fruits are included, and the boat is back at the pier by 19:00.
Will we see the sunset?
On the 5 and 6 hour afternoon trips the sun sets before the boat is back at the pier, in every month. From November to January it can set during the last island stop. We cannot promise a clear view: clouds or haze can hide the sun near the horizon.

Can the boat stay out after sunset?
No. The afternoon trips are back at the pier by 19:00 at the latest, so you see the sunset from the water and are back at the pier by then.
